HSMG to Provide Hospitalist Services for Emanuel Medical Center
Jan 10th, 11
Hospitalist Services Medical Group (HSMG), a leading provider of inpatient care, has been contracted to provide hospitalist services for Emanuel Medical Center (EMC) in Turlock, California. The program launched in December.
"We are honored to be selected as the hospitalist partner for EMC,” said Laura O'Flaherty, Vice President of Operations for HSMG. “A vital institution in the Turlock community, EMC is highly regarded nationally for its quality and service excellence. We look forward to collaborating with the well-established team to continue providing high quality care to the large region it serves.”
EMC is a not-for-profit, community-based Christian hospital. Its 415-bed multi-level medical campus includes a 209-bed acute care hospital, a 145-bed skilled nursing facility and a 49-bed assisted living facility.
HSMG will lead and support the on-site comprehensive hospitalist services for EMC, building on a program already in place. HSMG has a unique hospitalist model that focuses on investing in, training and supporting hospitalist physicians. The model allows HSMG to partner with its hospital clients to deliver efficient and cost effective services.
"We are excited to work with a proven hospitalist company with an impressive record of quality patient care, excellent service and strong physician teams," stated EMC President and Chief Executive Officer John R. Sigsbury.
This latest collaboration is a continuation of a relationship between HSMG, EMC and. Valley Emergency Physicians (VEP), the parent company of HSMG. VEP has provided emergency department staffing services to EMC since January 2007.
"Bringing HSMG to Turlock benefits the entire community including patients, primary care physicians as well as the hospital," said O'Flaherty. "Our physicians chose HSMG because they are physician led and patient focused."
HSMG, a division of Valley Emergency Physicians, was formed in 1998 in response to the increasing demand for physicians who specialize with in-patient medicine. HSMG currently provides Hospitalist Services to five additional hospitals.
